Everyone has always believed Tivek to be an academy washout, a cadet who was given the consolation prize of being the academy master's adjunct. Human cadet Morgan has always found the enigmatic Drexian mysterious and intriguing, and she's always believed there was more to him.
When she catches him sending a secret transmission during a mission, she's shocked to learn that he isn't who everyone believes him to be. Tivek is part of a fifth school in the academy, but it's one that no one knows about, no one can decide to join. The Shadows are the covert espionage school steeped in secrecy and whispers, and you can only become a Shadow by being recruited.
Morgan agrees to keep Tivek's secret. But as they get deeper into the mission, it becomes harder to hide the truth and harder to resist the pull of the gorgeous spy--and of The Shadows themselves. Will keeping Tivek's secrets be the answer she's been searching for, or will it cost Morgan everything?

Review: Secrecy is book five in Tana Stone's Warriors of the Drexian Academy series, and closely follows books one (Legacy), two (Loyalty), three (Legend) and four (Obsession). Like the others, this one has a different set of main characters (Tivek and Morgan), but the story is also told from the POV of characters from the previous books, and you need that background to understand the plot, so it should not be read as a stand alone.

I'm starting to think these books are a hit or miss for me. I loved the first part of Secrecy - non stop action, great dialogues, etc. The second part though? It seems it was written either in a rush or by a totally different person. While it was fun to return to the set and characters of
Ignite, it also reminded me why I hadn't liked that book so much in the first place. So, really, nothing interesting in the second part other than the back and forth of he loves me/he loves me not.
I'm hoping the next and final installment of the series (yet to be published at this point in time) is a bit better.
Happy readings,
