Review: Eyes Turned Skyward

Book Review: Eyes Turned Skyward, by Rebecca Yarros, 5 stars

Since her sister's death, Paisley Donovan, who shares her sister's heart condition, has been treated like delicate glass by her parents. But nothing will stop her from completing her Bucket List - even if it kills her.

And it almost does until Jagger Bateman pulls her from the ocean.

Jagger is enrolled in the country's toughest flight school. Wickedly hot, reckless, and perfect for a girl looking to live life to the fullest. Except Paisley is the commanding general's daughter, and her boyfriend is his biggest rival.

Paisley must decide just how much to risk for a guy who makes her heart pound a little too hard.

Genre: contemporary romance

Publication date: December 2014

Mature content: yes

Review: Eyes Turned Skyward is the second book in the Flight & Glory series by Rebecca Yarros. Each book can be perfectly read as a stand alone, although the characters flow from one story to another. In Eyes Turned Skyward we meet Jagger again (he was Josh's roommate in book 1, Full Measures) and we get a few glimpses of Josh and Ember's follow up.

I was pleasantly surprised with Jagger in this second book, I had pegged him as being a lot less serious in the previous book, and I also loved Paisley.

I still think some parts of the plot felt a bit rushed, but I just couldn't put down Jagger and Paisley's story. And I'm very glad they got their happily ever after, because things looked a bit shaky for a bit.

Overall, this is my favorite in the series so far (still three more to go). Recommended.

Happy readings!
