Review: The Winter Groom

Book Review: The Winter Groom, by Alexa Riley, 1 star

Curt Adler was told to take the young woman home. Nothing more. But when he sees her living conditions, he can’t in good conscience leave her behind. Also, he might be falling in love with her.

Demi has been left behind, forgotten, and tossed aside her whole life. But when Curt turns his protective gaze on her, all she wants to do is stay safe in his arms forever.

Warning: Can the two of them keep their hands off each other? Why would you want them to!? Kick off this wintery mix of sugar and spice in Hollow Oak!

Genre: contemporary romance

Publication date: August 2021

Mature content: yes

Review: After reading The Fall Groom I was not impressed with this series. However, I decided to give it a second change and tried to read The Winter Groom. Emphasis on tried. In my opinion, it's even worse than the other, and not even the hint of suspense kept me interested in the plot. On top of everything, Demi is a minor when she and Curt supposedly fall in love, and they get to the ridiculous situation of waiting for midnight of the day she turns eighteen to have sex...

Couldn't finish it and don't recommend it.

Happy readings otherwise!
