Review: Steelborn is probable one of the most compelling fantasy reads I’ve picked up this year, and it effortlessly earns every one of its 5 stars. The world-building is rich, the character dynamics are electric, and the balance between epic high fantasy and sweeping romantasy kept me hooked from start to finish.

So if you love immersive magic, high stakes, and characters you can't help but root for, this book is an absolute must-read.
That being said, I still had two minor issues with it. One, the pacing of the plot in some places. A couple of mid-book subplots (mostly, Reya's flashbacks into the past) felt a bit slow and drawn out, which briefly dipped the momentum before the story kicked back into high gear. And two, the fact that despite its length, this is still not a standalone. It leaves us hanging at the end, with no release date or timeline yet for the next installment...
But overall, even with these smaller flaws, the strength of the story and the sheer pull of the romance far outweighed the slow moments, at least for me. So if you're a fan of fantasy or romantasy, I recommend you to pick up this book — just prepare yourself for the inevitable wait for book two.
