Review: Silver Claws Crimson Tears

Book Review: Silver Claws Crimson Tears, by Ingrid Seymour, 4 stars

Vengeance has wings. Secrets have claws. But the truth may be the most dangerous weapon of all.

A year of my life is missing, stolen by darkness. I can’t remember anything, and when I return to Embernia, the realm I left behind hasn’t changed.

But I have.

Once, I was a bonded Skysinger, the best of my kind. Now, I return to whispers, suspicion, and a stranger in the mirror. My disappearance fractured more than memories. It left cracks in the life I tried to build and the thunderous relationship I shared with Vaylen Stormsong, Embernia’s irresistible High Prime.

He’s spent the last year carrying the weight of duty and the grief of my loss. But my return brings more than renewed passion. It brings danger. Shadows gather between us, secrets I can’t remember and forces determined to tear us apart.

The Screechclaw War rages on, and ancient forces stir beneath the surface. To save Embernia, I must uncover the truth of my missing year before it destroys everything. But the deeper I dig, the clearer it becomes: the greatest threat isn’t the enemy beyond the border. It’s the truth slowly awakening within me and what it might cost me.

Review: Silver Claws Crimson Tears, the second installment in the Wings of Embernia series by Ingrid Seymour (closely following Swift Wings Shadowed Heart), is a richly imagined fantasy romance that delivers on its promise of high stakes, intense emotion, and thrilling action. Like book one, it's a page turner. But I still don't like Rhea and I pity Vaylen more and more as the plot progresses.

Again, the cliffhanger took me completely by surprise. So, while Silver Claws Crimson Tears is a book I probably wouldn't like so much as a stand alone, right now I need to know the rest of the story (to be published next July).

Happy readings!
