Review: While I loved Julie Soto's previous contemporary romances, I was a bit on the fence about Rose in Chains. It took me a while to get into the story and at one point there were so many characters thrown in that I lost track of who they all were.
Towards the end, the plot improved a lot. though of course we then are left at a cliffhanger and now need to wait for book two in the trilogy to be published...
Also, be prepared because the romance between Briony and Toven is very slow placed - so slow paced I sometimes almost couldn't believe how dense they are towards each other's feelings. Hoping for a more fast paced follow up to their story in next book.
Overall - very well written, as I have known all of Julie Soto's books to be so far, fairly original plot and fantasy world (although a bit hard to understand at first), and with the potential for a great romance story. Not out-of-this-world amazing, but definitely recommended if you love the genre.
Happy readings,
