I'd just been fired, so the last thing I needed was some guy hitting on me, and I told him so in no uncertain terms. Then he goes and offers me the job of my dreams.
Rob was altogether too sure of himself, but if he thought giving me a job was going to win me over, he was crazy. I had sworn off men for the foreseeable future, and that included my new boss. Especially my new boss.
Genre: contemporary romance
Publication date: November 2021
Mature content: yes, though nothing overly graphical
Review: I liked it, but I wished for a bit more romance (or a lot more romance). Rob seems infatuated with Mo since he saw her in a bar one night. He offers her a job based on what can only be physical attraction, because they had almost no interaction at that point (and Mo seems intent on turning him down every time anyway).
She wants nothing to do with him, he pursues her, and finally she relents. It all seems too clinical, as if he finally wore her down and she accepts to (really) date. How they go from that to love seems too good to be true.
So, overall The Not-a-Date may be a fun book to read, but don't expect a lot of romance or a very elaborate plot either.
Happy readings!
