After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable.

While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important. Review: Loved it, even if half the time I wanted to yell at Alexis to just get herself together and behave like an adult instead continuing to live by everyone else's expectations. Still, hindsight is 20/20, like they say, and it's always easier to have a clear picture of things when you're looking at them from the outside, not so easier when you are living them (most especially when abuse, of any kind, is involved).

In any case. Alexis and Daniel are so perfect together you can't help but smile - and root for them.

I think the story flows very well, the characters are realistic and there are several important messages being passed on. I could have lived without the magic touches the author tries to add to the plot, but overall they didn't bother me all that much.
