Blog Tour: Tempting God by Sarah Bale

A secret society so powerful, it can give you everything you desire. Imagine what it can take away…

Tempting God, an all-new enemies to lovers, secret society, contemporary romance from bestselling author Sarah Bale is now available!

I saw him for the first time when I was 8 and loved him.

The next time we met, I was 16 and hated him.

At 24, he broke my heart and made me question everything.

I certainly never expected to become his wife at 32.

But Grant Carter does what it takes to win.

Even if that means marrying me.

He’s known as the Tempting God.

And I know better than anyone just how tempting he is.

He’s going to bring the Brotherhood into a new era.

Even if it might destroy my heart.

But I’m not the meek girl he once knew.

So I hope he’s prepared to meet his match.

Only, it’s hard to remain cold and uncaring when the Tempting God knows exactly how to tame this good girl.

Skimming the room, I hope to spot my match, but don’t see anyone. Since I said I was open to both male and female partners, it means I have to look at everyone. Sadly for me, I think it also means I’m going to have to venture further into the room.

Others don’t seem to have the same dilemma as me, pairing up left and right. I’m almost to the middle of the room when a terrible thought crosses my mind. What if my match didn’t show up tonight? Would the club even let me know? Surely they would. My gaze darts around the room. If I spot my guide, I’m going to voice my fears. Panic makes it hard to think as I push through the crowd. I’m almost to the wall when a tall man steps in front of me.

“There you are,” he says in a voice so deep I can’t help but take notice.

      “Pardon?”

He touches the lapel of his black suit jacket. “Lucky number thirteen. I was starting to think you weren’t here.”

I take in the man before me, or what I can see of him. He towers over me by at least a foot. His shoulders are broad, and he carries himself in a manner that demands attention. His face is mostly hidden by a mask, but a brown beard covers the lower half of his face.

      I smile.

      “A black cat?”

He grins, giving me a glimpse of white teeth.

      “It’s my favorite animal.”

I hum. “I’m not sure this is going to work out. I’m more of a dog person, myself.”

He presses his hand over his heart. “You’re wounding me.”

“Well, even if we are as opposite as cats and dogs, Mr. Van der Zee must have seen something that makes us compatible.”

“Indeed.” He gestures. “Shall we go to my table to get to know each other a bit more?”

I nod and follow him from the main room to a less noisy room. This room has a relaxed vibe, even though a couple is having sex onstage.

My mystery man gestures toward the stage and says, “I hope this is okay?”

“It is.” I pause. “I like to watch.”

His dark eyes are bright. “Thank you for being honest.”

He leads me to a round table with booth seating, sliding in first. I slide in next to him. We’re so close that our thighs touch.

“I’ve read the file on you.”

My eyebrows lift. “You did? And what did it say?”

“That we’re compatible in several areas. Neither of us are local, though we’re both in New York for the moment.”

“I fear you have an advantage. I didn’t get to see a file.”

The smile is back. “I’m an open book. What would you like to know?”

      “Your name?”

      “My friends call me GC.”
