Review: The Spanish Love Deception

Book Review: The Spanish Love Deception, by Elena Armas, 5 stars

Catalina Martín desperately needs a date to her sister's wedding. Especially when her little white lie about her American boyfriend has spiralled out of control. Now everyone she knows – including her ex-boyfriend and his fiancée – will be there.

She only has four weeks to find someone willing to cross the Atlantic for her and aid in her deception. NYC to Spain is no short flight and her family won't be easy to fool. . . But even then, when Aaron Blackford – the 6'4", blue-eyed pain in the arse – offers to step in, she's not tempted even for a second. Never has there been a more aggravating, blood-boiling and insufferable man.

But Catalina is desperate and as the wedding gets closer the more desirable an option Aaron Blackford becomes. . .

Review: I absolutely loved this book. It started a bit slow, but like the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. The love story between Lina and Aaron is absolutely perfect, even if sometimes it feels a bit one sided - Aaron seems to feel way more sure that they will work together than Lina is ready to admit, except almost at the very end. But then, every woman should have her own Aaron, he's just the perfect male hero.

The Spanish Love Deception has it all: an interesting plot, bringing about some of the problems women face, even today, when they are promoted or manage to climb the corporate ladder, very funny moments and one very, very romantic (and hot) love story. Recommended.

I will definitely look into more books by this author.

Happy readings otherwise,
