Review: A Secret Affair

Alicia's heart sank at the finality in his tone, and at the realization that this man would never be vulnerable where a woman was concerned. Todd's kisses filled her with elation. But her instincts warned that the promise of his kiss could never be fulfilled.

Genre: contemporary romance

Publishing date: January 1981

Mature content: nothing overly graphical

Review: Not an unpleasant workplace/office romance story, although a bit outdated my now (from the days secretaries still wrote letters on typewriters). At the time it was written, is was probably ok. These days I would be concerned that several scenes, mostly in the first part of the book, could be considered workplace harassment.

I did like the happy ending, even if I would have preferred Todd's confidence in Alicia's innocence had been more obvious. Not entirely bad for a vintage romance novel, but not something I would actively recommend either.

Happy readings otherwise,
