Review: Devil's Fancy

It hadn't been Fiona who had embezzled from Brandon Rivers firm but her selfish unscrupulous identical twin sister Faith who refused to own up.

For her mothers sake Fiona could not disclose the truth—and when she failed to convince Brandon of her innocence he proceeded to drag her off to work for him in the Bahamas where he intended to carry out his revenge on her.

And yet, with every reason to hate him as much as he hated her nevertheless Fiona found herself falling on love with him. Would she ever manage to get out of this tangle?

Genre: contemporary romance

Publishing date: December 1988

Mature content: yes

Review: Another old paperback that I will not be keeping. Even discounting the fact that the plot is hard to believe (I don't think anyone would envisage to accept what Fiona did just to keep her mother from discovering her sister's "crimes", especially since it was more than obvious the ruse could not last forever), I can't condone a story where the characters hit or try to strangle each other whenever they are angry and then call it love - no matter how old or vintage the book is.

Happy readings otherwise,
