Review: Shades of Dark

Review: Shades of Dark, by Linnea Sinclair, 5 stars

Court-martialed Imperial Fleet captain Chasidah Bergren is on the run with her fugitive lover, the telepathic mercenary Gabriel Sullivan. Rim-worlds and illegal deep-space outposts offer little safety. Corruption in the empire—expertly orchestrated by Sully’s powerful cousin, Hayden Burke—is everywhere: among her crew, her friends. Even her family. Then a mysterious operative offers critical intel on Burke’s plans. But Captain Del Regarth has plans of his own…

Everyone has a price. Everyone can make a choice. But when Sully makes his, Chaz must choose between what Sully has become—and what her heart demands she must do.

Genre: science fiction, science fiction romance

Publication date: April 2018

Mature content: yes

Review: I loved it, way way more than book one (Gabriel's Ghost). There's still a lot of angst around Chaz and Sully, but the writing flows much better in this second book, making it much easier to read.

The action, the romance and all the twists and turns in the story make Shades of Dark a book that it's very, very hard to put down until the very end.

Shades of Dark is not, however, meant to be read as a stand alone. You need to have read book 1 first, otherwise it will be very had to follow the story and the characters.

There are two more books in this Dock Five series and I definitely want to read them all in a row.

Happy readings,
