Review:The Devil You Know is book two in the Mercenary Librarians series by Kit Rocha, and while the authors try to add in a bit of background I would still say you need to read book one (Deal with the Devil) before venturing onto The Devil You Know.

In some ways, I enjoyed more this second installment in the series - probably because I was now used to the post-apocalyptic world the characters live in.

I did have one general concern with the plot - since all characters are more or less on the run, or at least in hiding, I found strange that they move around so freely while almost in sight of their "hunters", trusting a series of people that could just as well betray them.

It was a disaster waiting to happen, and it did happen. While that particular situation is crucial for the plot to unfold as it does, I still found the basis of it made little sense.

Other than the above, The Devil You Know is still a book very much worth reading, with gripping action scenes, a hot romance story and, in general, a page-turning plot.

Oh, and I do love all book covers in this series too.

Happy readings,
