Review: Show Time

Buying a cult compound to build a tiny town? Piece of cake. Being one of the suckers who falls in love on TV? Hell, no. Lucky for me, I found a CFO who shares my urge to skip the mating game part of my family’s social experiment and reality show. Vanessa and I can cast the cops, teachers, and nurses needed for a self-contained community and leave the dating mess to my siblings. Easier said than done. Vanessa’s smart and funny and hot as hell, and for once I can’t focus on running the show. Somewhere between a sexy waterslide ride and adopting dog, we share a helluva lot more than spreadsheets. Review: Show Time is book one in the Juniper Ridge series by Tawna Fenske. It's full of hot romance, lots of funny moments and a hint of suspense. Also, the concept behind the story is original, though maybe not entirely realistic.

 

Overall, Show Time will account for a couple of well-spent hours, but I had a few issues with the plot, hence the 4 stars rating instead of 5. My main issue was, in fact, Vanessa's reaction to Dean's managing style. Yes, he's a micro-manager, but to be honest, I felt Vanessa was over-reacting and not being very reasonable either.

 

 

   

 

I downloaded Show Time for free via Apple Books, but now I'm curious about the next ones in the series, so stay tuned for more reviews.
