Review: Quaranteam

Book Review: Quaranteam, by K. Archer, 3 stars

Evelyn

He’s dreamy, over-protective and with a hero complex the size of….well, you know. Now that we’re living together during lockdown, we can’t deny the intense heat that sizzles every time we’re alone in the room. But maybe one week to get it out of our systems will be enough. Right?

Colton

Besides football, she’s the thing I love the most in this world. I’ve said we’ll always be just friends, but she’s got some seriously sexy curves. I can’t help but notice all the ways we could christen each room of my house. I’m tempted, but I can’t risk losing her.

Genre: contemporary romance

Publication date: October 2021

Mature content: yes

Review: While I applaud authors who are brave enough to write about the current pandemic situation and create stories we can all relate to - because we've all been there - unfortunately Quaranteam did not work for me.

It started out alright, but once Evelyn, Colton and his teammates are are gathered in the same house to go through quarantine together, everything that happens could have happened over a vacation in Barbados, a long weekend in a cabin in the woods or anywhere else remote enough to have no additional secondary characters entering the story.

There are very few references to the pandemic after the first few pages, and an over abundance of sex scenes. Other than that, the plot is fairly limited and I can't bring myself to actively recommend Quaranteam.

Happy readings!
