Review: The Little Brooklyn Bakery

Book Review: The Little Brooklyn Bakery, by Julie Caplin, 4 stars

When Sophie Bennings arrives in New York, love is the last thing on her mind. Still reeling from a painful break up, she throws herself into her work as a food editor on a top-notch magazine.

Columnist Todd McLennan is everything that Sophie wishes she didn’t want. Like the gorgeous bakery below her Brooklyn apartment, he’s as tempting as the delicious cupcakes on display. Surely a little of what you fancy can do you good?

As Sophie and Todd get to know one another, a love of food isn’t the only passion they share. In the city that never sleeps, has Sophie finally met the man of her dreams…?

Genre: contemporary romance

Review: I loved reading The Little Brooklyn Bakery and I'm only rating it with 4 stars because I felt the end was a bit rushed. Romantic, feel-good, but still rushed. After Todd's admission he didn't do forevers, I thought it would take him some time to come around, but it was all solved in a matter of just a few days.

And yet, I loved that Sophie and Todd had their happy ever after, and Todd may be one of my favorite male characters ever, so overall I'm still hooked on this series by Julie Caplin and I intend to read all the books in order (although both the first and second books can be perfectly read as stand alones). Other reviews to come soon.

Happy readings!
