Review: I found The First Starfighter interesting, easy to follow and fairly original. I have seen some reviewers saying the plot is similar to an 80's movie with the same name but since I've never saw it I'm not going to make assumptions.
I could have done without half the sex scenes and the insta-lust/insta-love between Jamie and Alex. If you skip those parts, then you're left with a lot of action and a science fiction world that is pretty convincing, so if you love the genre you should give this book a try.
