Review: As with all of M. L. Buchman's books I've read so far, Target Engaged is full of amazing characters, a fast paced story and so many details about the training, the weapons and the missions these men and women find themselves in that it makes you feel you are part of the plot too.
In the case of this book, though, I found the first part way better than the second. Through all the team's training sessions and up to their first mission together, everything was just perfect. After that, the waters became a bit muddled. Kyle and Carla go from working perfectly together (even if they are engaged in a hot romance in between) to engaging into deep reflexions about themselves, their relationship and even the mission going forward.
Not what I expected from them from reading the first part of the book. And the mission itself suddenly seems to bloom into a conspiracy of huge proportions, a Mossad agent appears out of nowhere and they trust her enough to get her into their plans...well, all in all I found this part of the story a lot less realistic, and that's why I'm rating it with just four stars instead of the five at least the first half of the book deserved. Still great for military romance lovers, though.
Target Engaged is book one in the Delta Force series, so now I'm curious about the other books too. I'll post reviews of those as soon as I go through them.
Happy readings!
