Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist. After all, life isn't a scene from the movies, is it? But then, through a misted-up bus window one freezing day, she sees a man she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away.

Laurie thinks she'll never see the boy from the bus again. But at a party later that year, her best friend Sarah introduces her to the new love of her life. Who is, of course, the boy from the bus.

Determined to let him go, Laurie gets on with her life. But what if fate has other plans?

Genre: contemporary romance

Publication date: August 2018

Mature content: nothing overly graphic

Review: I loved the idea behind One Day in December - when you meet the person you are destined to be with, no matter what happens in between, life has a tendency to come full circle. Laurie and Jack don't even meet, not in the traditional sense of the word. They just look at each other and somehow both know the world has stopped turning for a few seconds -  is it love at first sight? Maybe, although it seems hard to tell with just one look. But it certainly was something major.

When they meet again - properly this time - Jack is dating Laurie's best friend and soon Laurie also meets (and marries) someone else. It takes a while for life to bring them together and a lot of things happen in the meantime.

The only issue I had with One Day in December is that in some places the plot seems to move very, very slowly - and then the end feels way too rushed in comparison.

Other than that, it's a beautiful love story and I recommend it.

 Happy readings!
