Review: Garnet Flats

Book Review: Garnet Flats, by Devney Perry, 4 stars

Talia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again.

Until years later when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help.

The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight.

Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.

Review: Garnet Flats is the third book in The Edens series and in terms of timeline closely follows Indigo Ridge and Juniper Hill. I loved the emotional part of this book, the only thing that bothered me were the implied mafia connections towards the end and the easy way those problems were solved. I'm pretty sure in real life things would be much more difficult - and dangerous.

While each of the books in the series has its own set of main characters and in theory can be read as a stand alone, my advice would be to read them in order to better understand the background and the secondary characters.

I certainly intend to continue reading the rest of the series and will post reviews of each book as soon as I finish it.

(and on a side note, I absolutely love the covers of all the books in the series...)

Happy readings!
