Review: Cold Fury

Seven years ago, Hope Harper was a star defense attorney with a great life—until she got the wrong defendant released, and he turned around and viciously slaughtered her family. Since then, the only thing Hope cares about is locking bad guys behind bars where they can’t hurt anyone else. Much to Aaron’s frustration, the cool blonde refuses to go into protective custody. As the hours and days wear on, Aaron and Hope manage a fragile truce. He begins to understand and admire the tenacious prosecutor, and the two of them begin to work together.

As the escaped serial killer’s rampage spins on, Hope knows it’s just a matter of time until he comes for her. Except something’s changed. For the first time since losing her family, she has something to live for. But is history doomed to repeat itself?

Review: Cold Fury is a great romantic suspense story and a great addition to the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. I had two issues with this book, though, hence the four stars rating instead of five. 

First, I felt the end was a bit rushed. After all the time going back and forth with the escaped serial killer, the whole thing is then solved in an almost seamless way.

And second, while I'm well aware Cold Fury is part of a series which, in turn, is a spin-off from another series, and while I have read most, if not all, of the previous books, it's almost impossible to remember all the characters and events from an already very large number of stories. So, some parts of Cold Fury were a bit confusing when the secondary characters (coming from the previous books) all got together or mentioned events I had little memory of. 

Other than the above, wonderful read and I still recommend it.
