Review: Mr. Wrong Number

Book Review: Mr. Wrong Number, by Lynn Painter, 4 stars

Bad luck has always followed Olivia Marshall...or maybe she's just the screw-up her family thinks she is. But when a "What are you wearing?" text from a random wrong number turns into the hottest, most entertaining—albeit anonymous—relationship of her life, she thinks things might be on the upswing....

Colin Beck has always considered Olivia his best friend's annoying little sister, but when she moves in with them after one of her worst runs of luck, he realizes she's turned into an altogether different and sexier distraction. He's sure he can keep his distance, until the moment he discovers she's the irresistible Miss Misdial he's been sort of sexting for weeks—and now he has to decide whether to turn the heat up or ghost her before things get messy.

Genre: contemporary romance

Publication date: March 2022

Mature content: yes

Review: I had a lot of fun with Mr. Wrong Number. The first part of the book is absolutely delicious - Olivia's goofy and disastrous attitude, Colin's seriousness, and their exchanges as Mr. Wrong Number and Miss Misdial.

I found the second part of the book a bit weaker, probably because most of the suspense was already gone - Colin already knew who Miss Misdial was, and Olivia found out well before the end of the book as well, so the thing I thought was going to be a big reveal at the finish line kind of fell through beforehand.

In any case. Mr. Wrong Number is an original, fun and witty romance story and you will for sure enjoy it.

Happy readings!
