Book Review: Boring is the New Black, by Megan Bryce, 5 stars

✩✩

The daughter of a famed supermodel, Nicole Bissette has unwillingly lived her entire life in the spotlight. And she's learned that to keep unwanted attention from herself, it's best if she never smiles, never laughs. Never lets anyone close.
Especially her employees. Especially that one employee who lives to make her laugh, who loves to see her smile, and who doesn't seem to realize that he works for a fashion designer. Does he not know? Can he not see? Is that really what he's wearing?
This fashionista is about to discover that love really is blind...

Genre: contemporary romance

Publication date: April 2016

Mature content: no

Review: I found Boring is the New Black funny, adorable and witty. It's a fairly quick read and even though the end was somewhat predictable, I just couldn't put it down.

Despite the sarcastic tone in which it is written (or maybe because of it), I think it portrays very well the world of fashion and modeling, especially it's less glamorous side - where some people feel they are entitled to let their crazy and wild side loose no matter who gets hurt, while others would just welcome the chance of doing what their love without being on the spotlight every second of the day.

I will definitely look into the next book in the series: The Tie's The Limit (The Fashionista and The Geek Book 2).

Happy readings,
