Review: I'm usually a great fan of Debbie Macomber's books, but this one didn't work for me, and not just because it was a short story. I think the plot had a lot of potential, and from the synopsis I expected something a lot different from what I got.
I found the characters inconsistent and underdeveloped, and some details just didn't match. It was odd to have a twenty three year old woman saying she's gone too long without a man in her life, it was annoying that Sean kept referring to Hilary as a débutante and it was even more annoying that he was intent on controlling her life even when he was telling her he didn't 't want to be involved and was leaving in a few weeks.
Sadly, the book is also really outdated by now and I think it would have been worth updating it a bit before publishing it on Kindle.
The only really positive aspect of The Apartment is that it's so short you read it in one sitting...
