Are you taking the 2016 reading challenge?

Well, if you're not, there's still time. Login or register over at Goodreads and challenge yourself. Determine how many books you want to read in 2016 and then update your status as you read along and finish each book.

2016 reading challenge

You don't need to select the books from the start, though you can add at least a few to your "want to read" queue.

And remember, it's a challenge, so you should put in a number that is reasonable but also that will require some effort and commitment from your part. You can also edit the number of books in the challenge at any time.

I'm challenging myself in reading 100 books this year! That's practically two books a week, let's see if I can keep up!

How about you? Do you want to read more in 2016?

  1. I set my challenge for 52 books. One a week. I'm 8 books ahead at this point but my reading slows down when the weather turns nice so I'm getting a head start. I hope you can stop by:

    1. Ah, I started with 48 books, by then decided it was not enough of a challenge and upped it to 100...

  2. How much time do you spend reading? Is it mostly fiction or non-fiction? I would love to read 100 books this year, but that's just not feasible with all I have on my plate right now. I'm thinking more of a goal like 12 books. LOL Be sure to share some of these books you're reading at Literacy Musing Mondays!

    1. Mostly fiction, though sometimes history and/or biographies too...I read a lot on the train to and from work, and at night too. Though yes, 100 books is a challenge!

  3. It's amazing how we need to challenge everyone to read nowadays. It's such a blessed time to be able to sit down with a book and enjoy the story or teaching! Thank you for sharing this, to get more interested! ...and for letting us know at the #HomeMattersParty

  6. I love reading, but I think for me making it a challenge wouldn't work. It's a great idea and I think it would be great for some people. You have made me wonder how many books I do read a year though. I've shared the challenge on Twitter FB and G+.

    1. i'm taking the challenge because I've never done it before and, like you, I wonder how many books I really read in a year. I've updated the challenge objective twice now, because I realised I actually read a lot more than I was initially challenging myself with. But I'm not reading books just because of the challenge, I'm reading because I love to read!
